Title: Bradford East Passport to the Future

Description: The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council are seeking organisations who can provide services to reduce NEET in Bradford East area. Bradford East Area Committee are concerned about young people who are struggling to find a way forward in their lives and are keen to support these NEET young people. The Committee recognises that a lot of agencies, projects and providers are currently engaged in supporting NEET young people, and that the area still has significant numbers of young people who are not in education, employment or training.

The Committee would like to commission projects which help young people identify suitable progression routes (into employment, education or training) and that offer them support to make the transition and sustain their involvement in these future activities. In particular the Bradford East Area committee agreed that the following target groups were its priorities: ? NEET young people who are disengaged or have given up. ? NEET young parents/mothers. ? NEET young people aged 16-25 with learning difficulties and disabilities There is a recognition that across the diverse neighbourhoods and communities of Bradford East that any approach to NEET young people and the issues they face cannot take a one size fits all approach, however any commissioned projects will have to target these groups. Bradford East Area committee is now seeking to identify suitable action research projects that can deliver the priorities, identified through their Hearing, on NEET young people.
